Die niederländische Symphonic-Rock-Band Delain wird am 1. Juni 2012 ihr drittes Studioalbum „We Are The Others“ über Roadrunner Records veröffentlichen. Die erste Single „Get The Devil Out Of Me“ wird ab dem 13. April erhältlich sein.

Die Band um Mastermind Martijn Westerholt (dem Bruder von Within Temptation Gitarrist Robert Westerholt) und der rothaarigen Frontfrau Charlotte Wessels, verbrachte fast den kompletten vergangenen Sommer mit dem Tripo Produktionsteam in Schweden. Mit Jacob Hellner (Rammstein, Apocalyptica) und dem Epicentre Team, Vredrik Thomander und Anders Wikström (Scorpions, Backyard Babies) nahmen sie sich in Hellners Studio in Stockholm zwei Monate Zeit, um das Material für „We Are The Others“ fertigzustellen. Martijn sagt: „They pushed each of us to our absolute limit and in many cases beyond! They really knew how to get the maximum out of us individually, out of Delain as a band and of course out of our songs.”  Und das hat sich gelohnt. Denn das Album ist voller Hooks wie etwa beim Titelsong ‚We Are The Others‘, ‚Are You Down With Me‘ und ‚Where Is The Blood‘, einem kraftvollen und gefühlsgeladenen Duett mit Fear Factory Frontmann Burton C. Bell.

Der Titelsong des Albums ist eine Hymne für alle Outsider, lyrisch inspiriert von einem Hassverbrechen gegen das englische Mädchen Sophie Lancaster im Jahre 2007. Sophie und ihr Freund wurden von einer Jugendgang ins Koma geprügelt, einfach nur aufgrund ihres Gothlooks. Kurz darauf erlag Sophie ihren Verletzungen (weitere Informationen unter http://sophielancasterfoundation.com) und die Tragödie ging um die Welt. Charlotte: „Sophie’s story hit close to home for us, being part of a subculture ourselves, but it’s in no way an individual case.  People are discriminated against all the time, to the point of violence, based on their cultural or ethnic background.  ‘We Are The Others’ is our own ‘outsiders anthem’ for everybody who, deliberately or not, diverts from the norm.  Whether by looking different, acting different, or choosing a different path in life than is expected from you.”

„Getting ‘We Are The Others’ recorded has been a challenging process,” fährt Charlotte fort.  „However, I'm absolutely sure that it forced the best out of us.  I'm in love with so many of the tracks on this record!  Our fans have shown massive support in the run up to the release.  Thank you all so much for that!  Now that we've got the date fixed and this great new team behind us, I can't wait to get onstage and blow your minds with our new songs.  You rock!!”
