What do you get when you combine guttural, rapid-fire vocals, a tough metallic guitar attack, a funhouse horn section and muscular drumming that borders on polka for the insane? It‘s nothing but the Voodoo Glow Skulls, a great punk rock band that happens to play very fast songs with horns. Voodoo Glow Skulls concocted their infectious mixture of punk, metal, ska and Latino music thirteen years ago and proceeded to distill it into a poisonous brew of propulsive rock ‘n‘ roll that has driven audiences wild around the globe.

Voodoo Glow Skulls are back with "Steady As She Goes" - an album they are particularly proud of, as they produced it themselves in their own studio. The title track symbolizes the journey of Voodoo Glow Skulls - while the years have been filled with ups and downs, the band faces the future with optimism and their usual twisted sense of humor. "Steady As She Goes" contains twelve raucous tracks, two in Spanish and (in keeping with their tradition) one cool cover, 60s chestnut "Little Red Riding Hood", made famous by Sam the Sham and the Pharaohs. These great new tracks explore everything from racial/ghetto politics ("High Society", "The Rat Traps", "Nada En La Cabeza") to the outrageous fun of the Voodoo Glow Skulls live show ("Voodoo Anthem"), from Mexican mythology ("La Llorona") to the disloyalty of lost friends ("Steady As She Goes").

Voodoo Glow Skulls formed in 1988 in Riverside, CA by brothers Frank, Eddie and Jorge Casillas and their longtime friend Jerry O‘Neill. The Voodoo Glow Skulls practiced for two years in a sweaty back bedroom/practice space until they forged a taut unit that performed with demonic intensity and a demented sense of humor. Backyard parties spread the gospel of Voodoo Glow Skulls; when Spanky‘s Cafe‘ opened they played now-legendary shows with the Angry Samoans, Mighty Mighty Bosstones and The Dickies.

In 1991, the Voodoo Glow Skulls‘ devotion to ska and the Latin music they grew up on inspired them to add a horn section - just in time to play on the band‘s first national tour. Voodoo Glow Skulls became wildly popular on the indie scene, performing as headliners and as a support act for The Offspring, No Doubt and 311.

Voodoo Glow Skulls recorded their debut effort, "Who Is? This Is" for Dr. Strange Records in 1992, which ultimately sold 200,000 copies worldwide. The band quickly signed to Epitaph Records and released four cds that collectively sold over 750,000 copies worldwide. Voodoo Glow Skulls soon began receiving raving, critical reviews and the mainstream support of commercial alternative radio and MTV. A prominent main stage spot on the 1998 Warped Tour cemented the Voodoo Glow Skulls esthetic into the minds of impressionable youth across the United States.

When "Steady As She Goes" hits the streets, Voodoo Glow Skulls do the same! They celebrate the release of "Steady As She Goes" with shows across the United States and Canada from July though September. The hard-working men of Voodoo Glow Skulls have made it their personal mission to expose audiences to what they describe as California street music. "Steady As She Goes" is a perfect primer for the uninitiated, while continuing to thrill longtime fans.

malträtieren ihre Instrumente seit nun drei Jahren unentwegt in London und Umgebung. Mit ihrem markanten Piano-Spiel und ihrer Mischung aus Cockney Ska, erdigem Rock’n’Roll und den sofort zündenden Feel-Good-Songs haben sie sich dabei bereits eine riesige Fanbase erspielt. Dazu hat sicherlich ihr 2009 in Eigenregie veröffentlichtes Debütalbum „Our Night Out“ maßgeblich beigetragen, das für nicht enden wollende Begeisterungsstürme und lobpreisende Rezensionen sorgte.

Ende Februar erscheint „Our Night Out“ – komplett remastered inklusive zweier Bonussongs ausgestattet – dann als schickes Digipak über People Like You Records/EMI. Mit ihren neuen Labelkollegen BROILERS waren die Jungs bereits im Herbst auf Tour und mit THE CREEPSHOW werden sie sich Ende 2010 auch noch die Bühne teilen, um „Our Night Out“ live europaweit in Deutschland, Österreich, Schweiz und England zu präsentieren. Um den Buster Shuffle-Fans die Wartezeit bis zum VÖ des Digipaks im Februar zu verkürzen, wird das Album passend zur Tour bereits am 27. Dezember europaweit auf allen Plattformen digital erhältlich sein und kann auch am Merch-Stand der Band als Downloadcard gekauft werden.

Das Line-Up von BUSTER SHUFFLE besteht aus dem Pianisten und Sänger Jet Baker, und dem „besten Drummer, den sie in London auftreiben konnten“ Terry Mascall, Tim Connel aka Popeye Doyle am Kontrabass und James Stickley an der Gitarre.
Seit der Veröffentlichung von „Our Night Out“ haben die Jungs ihr heißgeliebtes London natürlich mehrmals verlassen, um Support-Shows kreuz und quer durch England zu spielen. Dabei machten sie auch einige kurze Abstecher auf das europäische Festland und hinterließen neben einem erschöpften Publikum reihenweise offene Münder, beispielweise auf dem Endless Summer Festival in Deutschland und dem „Waterpop“-Festival in den Niederlanden.
Auf einem BUSTER SHUFFLE Konzert muss man Spaß haben - es geht gar nicht anders. Energiegeladene Hits wie z.B. „Me, Myself And I“, „You’re Alright“ und „I’ll Get My Coat“ laden einfach zum Tanzen und Abfeiern ein.

Die Arbeitsmoral von BUSTER SHUFFLE lässt sich wohl am besten an ihrem spontanen „Zehn-Shows An-Einem-Tag-Akustik-Tour-Marathon“ während des Londoner „Play Me I’m Yours Festival“ erkennen. Übrigens sehr charmant in dem Video „Ten Pianos“ dokumentiert, bei der sie mal mit Öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln, mal zu Fuß durch London tingeln und Konzerte an zuvor deponierten Pianos spielen, komischerweise ohne dabei in Polizeiarrest aufgrund Erregung öffentlichen Ärgernisses zu wandern.

Stillstehen ist bei einem Livekonzert des Londoner Quartetts nicht möglich, denn die Shows sind ganz großes Entertainment. Und genau diese Shows machten Ian Catskilkin, seines Zeichens Gitarrist von Art-Brut, auf die Londoner Ausnahmeband aufmerksam, der die Jungs dann unter seine Fittiche nahm und mit ihnen in Eigenregie ihr erstes Album aufnahm. Und so entstand das Album dann auch zum größten Teil in Jets Schlafzimmer und lediglich das Schlagzeug wurde innerhalb von zwei Tagen in einem Studio eingetrommelt.

Das Resultat ist ein unglaublich rockendes Album, dessen Songs Geschichten aus dem Alltag erzählen, die zumindest jeden im Publikum zum Schmunzeln bringen werden. Ob nun Busfahrten, Katzen, Beziehungen, Freunde, politische Liebesaffären, reifere Frauen, asoziales Benehmen oder einfach nur Fußball, ihr gebt das Stichwort und Baker schreibt euch einen Song dazu.

Ihr Video zum Titel Track „Our Night Out“ zeigt beispielsweise wie eine völlig normale Nacht in einem Club total aus dem Ruder laufen kann, natürlich alles unterlegt mit dem BUSTER SHUFFLE typischen Ska-Beat.
Man kann also zu Recht behaupten BUSTER SHUFFLE sind so britisch wie Fish and Chips. Fakt ist auch, dass ihre Songs in so ziemlich jede Lebenslage passen und das gibt dem Album etwas wirklich Einzigartiges.
BUSTER SHUFFLE arbeiten natürlich bereits an neuen Songs, auf dem unter anderem Gastauftritte von Micky Gallagher (Ian Dury & The Blockheads und The Clash), aber auch andere bekannte Künstler zu hören sein werden, deren Identitäten aber vorerst noch geheim bleiben. Ihr dürft also gespannt sein, was BUSTER SHUFFLE für euch in Zukunft noch bereit halten.

South Bay punk rockers  LEFT ALONE have made a name for themselves with hard work and dedication starting in the back yards of Wilmington, California and progressing to stages around the world. They have been working on their highly anticipated 5th studio full-length album for Los Angeles based indie power house HELLCAT RECORDS. LA has spent the majority of 2011 writing the new album, touring the U.S and launching a successful split 7" series. The 7'' splits were released every other month from the beginning of the year with bands they have met while on tour.

LEFT ALONE will enter the Studio in Dec to record the songs for the new album. Band Leader and song writer Elvis Cortez stated, "I've written so many songs for this record that we can bust a triple album. I have spent the longest time at home since 2004 so i have had enough time to work on songs and mold the new album."

Elvis has recently added a new rhythm section to the band. New members consist of bass player Jimmy Jam, who plays both electric and upright bass which adds a unique twist to the band, and on the drums is Ben Shaw. Ben is a punk rock staple in the Los Angeles area, who rounds out the sound with strong and explosive style. With a new record in the works,  2012 will find LEFT ALONE on the road for most of the year.
